Workshops & Encounters
Go outside. Learn together.
Tracking is first and foremost a practice that happens outside. It unfolds in forests, fields, mountains, riverbanks or urban edges … wherever traces can be found and attention can be shared. For this reason, Followly places great importance on in-person encounters. Throughout the project, we organise and participate in workshops, walks and public events. But Followly does not position itself as a school of tracking. Across Europe, many practitioners and teachers already transmit their knowledge with remarkable depth and generosity.
Our role is different.
We seek to create situations of encounter: moments where trackers, newcomers, students, researchers or curious visitors can meet, exchange perspectives and share the experience of reading the landscape together. In different territories, these workshops are organised in collaboration with local partners such as schools, cultural organisations and youth associations. They allow participants from very different backgrounds to discover the practice of tracking, sometimes for the first time.

These encounters are also moments of observation for Followly itself.
They reveal how attention circulates between people, how curiosity emerges collectively and how the simple act of following a trace can transform the way we perceive a landscape. Workshops and encounters therefore form an essential part of the project: they anchor Followly in real places, real bodies and real conversations.
