Followly is a European platform exploring the art and intelligence of animal tracking.

Followly began when two people passionate about tracking and fascinated by trackers met in the field, and started wondering what might happen if they brought their other skills along with them: filmmaking, anthropology, journalism and nature education. ‍

From workshops and encounters to documentary films, immersive experiences, articles, playful digital challenges and visual essays, each of our projects offers a different yet complementary way of exploring tracking and ecological attention.

‍ ‍

Followly pursues five missions: defending ecological intelligence, preserving European tracking cultures, strengthening cognitive resilience, connecting a community through citizen science, and developing European environmental storytelling.

Followly organises its projects along a continuum of formats because the practice of tracking itself unfolds simultaneously across different modes of engagement, blurring the line between embodied field experience and analytical reflection.

We travel across Europe, record fragments and quietly orchestrate them for you. The experience is meant to feel simple, like a walk. Whichever direction you take, let your curiosity lead the way.

You are welcome to wander here for as long as you like.

1. Workshops & Encounters

Go outside. Learn together.

We create and document situations of encounter where trackers, newcomers, teenagers, artists, researchers or curious visitors can meet, exchange perspectives and share the experience of reading the living landscape together.

2. Films & Fragments

Meeting those who read the ground.

Followly develops a diversity of documentary forms, embracing a deliberately fragmentary approach. Some films take the shape of discussions or portraits of trackers, some explore specific territories, while others extend toward broader reflections on perception, ecology and society.

Followly’s Art-Science Lab.

Our video essays are a space for experimentation, bringing field knowledge, science, philosophy and artistic practice into dialogue. A laboratory for testing ideas, shifting perspectives and exploring new ways of thinking with / about the living world.

4. Immersive Experiences

Tracking is something that must be experienced.

Through experimental audiovisual approaches, such as 360° video, subjective camera perspectives or interactive narratives, these works invite viewers to accompany the tracker in the field. Within the movement itself.

Thinking Through the Living World.

Tracking does not only produce experiences in the field; it also opens questions. Our articles follow these questions across philosophy, anthropology, ecology, ethology and the arts, exploring how our ways of observing, speaking and imagining shape our relationships with other forms of life.
